All Access 2010 Conference

Every weekend, at least one new ARC church begins.

That’s right–in 2009 the Association of Related Churches planted 55 churches around the country, and this year they plan to plant another 75-100. In addition to reaching thousands of people locally with these new congregations, the ARC church plants also give millions of dollars to reach people globally–last year they donated more than $7 million to foreign missions.

One of the big ways ARC supports and recruits its leaders is their annual All-Access conference. This year’s event is April 27-29 at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge. Hillsong United will be there to lead worship and offer a Q&A on production. Speakers include Dino Rizzo, Craig Groeschel, Priscilla Shirer and John Maxwell and a variety of App Sessions provide in-depth discussion of leadership, church life, social justice and more.

ARC is all about relationships–creating them and nurturing them. So their conference is, too. You don’t just listen to these guys talk, you have opportunities to talk WITH them and connect with other leaders who share a vision for life-giving, fast-growing church plants.

The Idea Camp

General Conference Overview

Conference Focus: Being Present With the City

This particular Idea Camp will focus on the topics of seeing our cities through the eyes of God and expressing love by being present in practical ways. The umbrella of being present encompasses themes of walking with and serving our neighbors as opposed to doing ministry to them. As primarily a faith-based conference, there will be an on-going focus on the importance of respectfully listening to the communities we live in, collaborating across faith traditions to pray and serve, and embracing our communities’ issues as our own.

Using an interactive platform and collective of leading thinkers and practitioners from the field, participants will be able to learn from leading experts as well as one another, share best practices, and work toward collaborative efforts. In addition, those following online will be able to experience the conference via the latest tools in social media. All of the general sessions and a handful of workshops will be streamed live and recorded to be used as future resources online.

Skin Deep Conference

Here’s the write-up from Eugene Cho’s blog

Quest Church is pleased to host another one day Learning Conference. In years past, we’ve had the privilege of hosting voices such as John Perkins, Lauren Winner, and Shane Claiborne to speak on how our faith in Christ engages such important issues such as Reconciliation, Gender, and Politics.

This year, we invite our friends, neighbors, and guests from the larger Pacific Northwest and beyond to join us for SKIN DEEP: a conference on faith & race in the church.

We’re all aware that our world including our very own cities and neighborhoods are changing around us. And while we all acknowledge and celebrate the biblical portrait of the WHOLE and DIVERSE Church, we often allow the culture to dictate who we are rather than the gospel to inform and transform us so that we serve as agents of Light & Salt to our world.

Whether we like to admit it or not, RACE and its complexities remain a source of tension and division. For that reason, the Church must be a voice of Hope and Reconciliation.

This year, we welcome Dr. Soong Chan Rah, author of The Next Evangelicalism: Freeing the Church from Western Cultural Captivity and professor at North Park Seminary, as our keynote speaker.

We’ll also have several important voices from the Quest Church community including Dr. Brian Bantum (Seattle Pacific University professor), Rebekah Kim (first female Korean-American public school principal in Washington), and Jason Rust (Community Groups Director at Quest). Lastly, we welcome your voice along with what we hope will be over 200 voices joining us. The agenda for the day includes several breakout discussions with hopes that we can bring people from around the Northwest to engage in both dialogue, friendship, and action.

We don’t want any barriers for your participation and per our usual practice, costs are very accessible. Registration is ONLY $10/general and $6/students and this includes lunch. Register here. // Facebook Event

The Idea Camp is coming to the Pacific NorthWest November 20-21, 2009!

The focus of this particular Idea Camp will be “Being Present with the City”. We hope to re-imagine what it would look like to be fully present in one’s city. Instead of approaching cities with a mentality of the Church “conquering” or “taking-over”, we hope to embrace our cities by first listening, learning, and loving our neighbors.

Our conversation will center around the posture, ethos, and practice of faith communities that intentionally partner with cities to co-create tangible expressions of love and hope. Our presupposition is that God is already at work in the cities that we live. We must work together with our city stakeholders to bring the kind of change God desires.

We are in the process of inviting several people who embody this kind of focus. We hope that you will join us and add to this very important conversation.

Are You Ready for The Nines?

The Nines from Todd Rhoades on Vimeo.

THE NINES is  a web event unlike any other you’ve previously engaged. The format is simple: 9-minute video leadership lessons that can help multiply your church’s impact. You will be stretched as a leader, and motivated as a church. And you’ll hear a personal word from many of the leaders you know and trust (along with some great new leaders they’ll introduce you to). It all starts at 9:00 a.m. Central time on 09/09/09. Make a day of it. The conference will probably last around nine hours! You can come and go as you please, but it would be awesome if you hung out all day.

And here’s the best part, you can participate on TonyMorganLive.com. Tony’s  blog will be hosting the event as one of several simulcast sites. (You can visit other sites, but his crowd will be more fun.)

The event is FREE, but you need to register now to participate.

Over 60 presenters, including Mark Driscoll, Perry Noble, Mark Batterson, Ed Stetzer, Reggie McNeal, John Ortberg, Steven Furtick, Greg Surratt, Reggie Joiner and many, many more.

Each presenter has nine minutes or less to present based on this thought: “If you could sit down one-on-one with a handful of church leaders, what is the one thing you would want to tell them?”

Over 6,000 leaders have already pre-registered for this one day online event, so make sure you register today.
